Karen DeVore, Louisville KY, USA
Biography
I was raised in Salt Lake City by two lovely parents in a working class neighborhood in the west end of town. I spent time in my early 20's traveling through Europe, visiting Buddhist Monasteries when I could. I have always been passionate about music, and after some time experiencing the dance and house culture in Europe, I landed in Kentucky in mid 2000's to try my luck at becoming a hip-hop DJ. I made some small success, even being written up in the Leo (Louisville's local paper). However, when I learned I was to become a mother I decided to put my music "career" on hold and enter into the wonderful world of Computer Science and Technology.

I began on a help desk in 2010, working into a senior position and eventually transitioning to business analyst positions. In 2014 I had my first opportunity to work in an Agile shop and have been passionate about product ownership and product management ever since.
I am at my core a millennial, who remembers when technology made life better and more fun. My career goals at this point are to back teams and projects that are building tech people need, not only focused on tech to make investors or shareholders excited.

I am married to a tattoo artist who is locally known and has experienced some notoriety nationally, As such, I have many tattoos and love body modification. Tattoo culture blends some of my favorite things, history, art, and culture. Earlier this year in 2025, my husband and I combined talents to invest in a startup called Tattoostreet.io. We are building the next generation of technology for tattoo artists and their clients, filling a space not served by the current tools on the market. I am proud of the work we are doing.
